Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Introduction
Knowledge Graph ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Obsidian plugin. We designed Knowledge Graph with privacy as a core principle.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our services. The information collected includes:
- Device Information: A unique device identifier generated on your device for licensing and activation purposes only. This identifier never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to activate a Pro license.
- License Information: When you purchase a Pro license, we store your license key and activation status. This is the only information stored on our servers.
- Document Metadata: File paths, timestamps, and basic document metadata are stored locally in your Obsidian vault.
2. Local Processing
When using local models (Ollama), all document processing happens entirely on your device. No document content, extracted entities, or analysis results are transmitted to external servers. This is our recommended mode for maximum privacy.
💡 Privacy Note: In local mode, your document content never leaves your computer. All AI processing is done locally on your device.
3. Cloud Processing
When you choose to use external cloud models (OpenAI/Anthropic), document content is sent directly from your device to the respective service provider's API. By enabling cloud processing, you acknowledge and agree that your content will be processed by third-party services according to their respective privacy policies.
- We do not store, log, or retain any document content sent to cloud model providers.
- API keys are stored locally in your Obsidian vault configuration.
- Cloud processing is entirely optional and disabled by default.
4. Data Storage
All processed data, including extracted entities, relationships, keywords, and analysis results, is stored locally on your device within your Obsidian vault. We do not store any of your personal data or document content on our servers.
- Plugin settings and configurations are stored locally in your Obsidian configuration directory.
- You have full control over your data and can delete it at any time by uninstalling the plugin or removing the relevant files from your vault.
- No data is transmitted to our servers for analysis, storage, or any other purpose.
5. Third-Party Services
This application may integrate with the following third-party AI model providers, whose privacy policies govern their handling of your data:
- OpenAI: https://openai.com/privacy
- Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy
- Ollama (Local): No external data transmission
6. No Telemetry or Analytics
Knowledge Graph does not include any telemetry, usage analytics, or tracking code. We do not collect any usage statistics, crash reports, or behavioral data from our users.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data stored by the plugin (all data is already on your device)
- Delete your data at any time
- Disable cloud processing and use local-only mode
- Request deletion of your license information from our servers
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the plugin after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
